Choosing a grader is partly about brand and partly about logistics. Fees and turnaround change, so use this as a decision framework and verify current prices before you ship.

What to compare

For each company, look at:

1. Fee at your card's value tier
2. Estimated turnaround
3. Resale liquidity for your specific card
4. Slab preference and sub-grade needs

The cheapest option is not always cheapest if the label sells slower.

Brand and liquidity

PSA usually leads Pokémon resale recognition. BGS appeals when sub-grades or Black Label potential matter. SGC and CGC are respected alternatives that may win on price, speed, or personal preference — check comps for your card.

Speed vs cost

Paying up for express services only makes sense when time has real value: a show, a hot market flip, or a gift deadline. For long-term PC cards, slower tiers are often rational.

Do not multi-submit blindly

Sending the same tier of cards to four companies "to see who is nicest" creates inconsistent labels and muddy comps. Pick a primary strategy per card type.
